Internship

Long time no see!
But here a collection of stuff I sketched at my internship.
Most of them are doodles and if they aren't, I still can't tell you what they are for ;)
So I just dump them here to show them to you.
They are in order of time, from past to most recent:

Sunday-doodles

Inspired by some '50-stuff, I doodled those (and more) last Sunday. I like the one on the right bottom the most. But I also don't like it at the same time, because I think it looks like the girl below:
Goo Goo Ga-Ga
(Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends)

Well, it doesn't completely match, but it feels like the same :P

New stuff!

First a walky ^_^
Because the bunny I'm going to animate has short legs and some what big feet, I tried this out:
WARP!
I had some troubles with uploading, so that's why it's in a link...

Then, a sketch of Mick (the bunny of Mitch' parents)

And probably the final sketch of how Mac is going to look like in the animation! WHOOOHOO!!!

Harmke

I finally started with my new personal website.
Already for one year I say that there will be a new one soon, but now the moment is almost there!
Do not expect a huge flash-site with AS 3.0 and stuff... It's gonna be a usual xhtml-site hahaha, just to show some work.
I need this site for showing my work to company's for my internship coming January.

Enough talking.
For this site I drew a character of myself.
It's pretty generic.
Somehow I can't do the funny cartoony stuff yet.
Has someone any tips for me to let go the generic stuff?

This is the character:

I've just inked it.
I'm very tired right now, 'cause it's 0:40AM here.
So I'll do the clean up and corrections tomorrow.
For now:

Edit:
Made some corrections in lines, shapes and thick/thin.
Not completly satisfied with the character, it's too generic.
Collored it with the "Live Paint"-option in Illustrator, works perfect for me :)
Here is the result:

Orange is not my natural haircolor, but I just painted it this color last week :)
I color my hair every 2 to 3 months, so I have to change the character this often too haha.
I could make the hair mid-blond, like my natural haircolor, but orange is happier!

serve dog

Again not very busy @work, so this time I copied the "serve dog" of the Preston Blair book:

Not a perfect copy, but good enough to ink it:

I did this ink with my new Wacom.
I almost immediatly discovered that I had less problems with drawing lines :)
So, bye bye Graphire and helloooo Intuos ^_^

I keep on practising, it's still far from "good"!

copy - ink

It was quite calm @work, so I was glad I took the Preston Blair book with me this morning :).
I copied the tired dog:

@Home I inked this copy:

Special thanks to Katie, who posted an awesome post about inking.
And to Mitch ofcourse, who is my 24/7-feedback-generator ^_^ (he's also good at other things but I'm not going to bore you with that information ;)).

Anyway!
I think this is already much better than I ever inked before, so I'm on the right track I suppose :).
That's my opinion... what do YOU think????!!!!

Expressions

I tried to apply some expressions on my bunny last days.
I photographed the sketches because my scanner is *#(#*@...
So I'm sorry for the gradient on the photo's ;)
Here we go!

Random:

Sad:

I was not quite sure about how to let the ears drop down.
What do you think about the curve at the chin to suggest a sad mouth?

Arrogant:

Also troubles with the ears!
Should I point them to the direction the bunny looks or in the opposite direction?

Random (innocent, scared & happy):

Random (normal, happy & in love):

Find it difficult to draw an happy bunny.
There is no mouth, so I can't draw a smile.
I tried to make it clear by making the nose wider, eyes closed, ears in the air & high eyebrows.

Random:

Gasping:

Star Wars!

I watched Star Wars all over the weekend, so I had to do this one ;).
It's not a great pose, but well.. I think it's allright for now.
(I wish it was more powerfull, more exaggerate... but I'm gonna work on that!)

Tips, tricks & feedback are welcome :)
